The uncomfortable truth I learn about myself after learning my design

Musings

Have you ever experienced a moment in life where you questioned everything you know about yourself?

These moments rarely come announced; they find you during a breakdown, a burnout, a collapse, or when shit hits the fanβ€”something existential.

I like to describe them as threshold moments.

Some call that a quarter-life crisis, middle-age crisis, etc.

Most of us have experienced at least one of them in our lives. And then there is anotherβ€” one that is different from the firstβ€”where the questioning emerges not because things were not going right, not because things were going amazing eitherβ€”but because the cracks that you have profusely tried to bury beneath you were finally surfacing. And it was impossible to ignore.

That was how I would describe my experience upon discovering Human Design.

Yes, I felt truly seen for the first time in my life.

It gave me language for all of my experiences. It gave me so much more. It was the permission slip I was looking for.

But it was far from a smooth landing.

It forced me to meet myself honestly and left me with more questions for myself than I asked for.

Now here is the thing about discomfort:

Discomfort is not necessarily a bad thing.

It just reveals you are closer to an edge of transformationβ€”and if you let it, it can go both ways. It can either shrink you, or it can expand you, beyond what you can possibly imagine.

This tension will orbit in your periphery.

And this can be deeply uncomfortable because learning about yourself will always expose you to where you are being called to still meet yourself gently.

You will always be gently nudged to choose differently. To change the course of the ship you are sailing, to experiment, to be intentional, to choose differently, and be the empowered Projector you are here to beβ€” and the choice is always yours.
