7 Simple Ways To Tune Inwards Into Your Feminine Flow

Spirituality, Personal Growth

My Story

In the past few months of my life, I have been going through an entire revamp and restructuring of my life specifically my routines alongside running my business, and achieving a work-life harmony. The pivotal moment was when I discovered that I was a projector in Human Design. Human Design is a technology also known as the science of the aura and it is a synthesis of ancient and modern sciences. It weaves different wisdom including the I Ching (the Chinese Book of Change), the Indian Chakra System, Kabbalah, Astrology, Quantum Physics and Astronomy. In Human Design, humans are mechanically divided into 5 Types (Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector and Reflector). You can find your specific Design over here. The information that defines your Design Chart is your actual birth time and the position of the Sun approx. 88 days (or 88 degrees) prior to the moment of your birth.

To learn that I was a projector was a revelation because I learned that Projectors by design are naturally more feminine in our energies and aura. It is important for us to take ownership and live in that alignment so that we can live an empowered life we came here for. However, I have been living and operating in a masculine way my entire life after all—we are living in a much Generator, masculine driven society.

As an entrepreneur, a sister, a friend, a daughter, a colleague, I found that I struggled with putting on many hats. It is especially exhaustive especially when you are a business owner for yourself— you pretty much have to do everything. Most importantly in the past few months, I learned what did not work for me. It worked for many others and I assumed that it would for me—except it didn’t. I felt acutely uncomfortable, unaligned and had burnouts too. I felt as if something innately was wrong with me. And it was almost a few months of true hustling of doing more, being more, producing more- the striving of this work-life balance that really, truly registered to me that that wasn’t what my soul truly yearned or signed up for.

Rather, I was yearning for a work-life harmony.⠀

A harmonious and healthy integration of masculine and feminine energies in my life.⠀

Work-life harmony

In the world driven by the patriarchy, we live in a culture that celebrates and nurtures productivity over pleasure. We value success as the amount of work you accomplish, instead of whether the work excites us. It is almost abnormal if you are not working hard, doing more or producing more. If you are not working 8 hours a day, you are slacking. If you are not hustling or on the grind in traditional work, you are labeled as a lost puppy. A “work-life balance” offers the slide of either the black or a white, not the in-between or the greys.

A “work-life harmony” however, can be defined as a harmonious and healthy integration of the approach to life. One where we do not over-value or under compensate either the masculine or the feminine energies in our approach to living. One that is rooted in self-compassion and a deep understanding of flexibility and harmony of everyday living. One that is fuelled by intuition and tapped into your emotions and what feels right. And most importantly? One that honors a life that fulfills and excites you.

Feminine flow thrives on authenticity, receptivity and really tuning into our body’s energetic wisdom. When we learn to honor our physical, emotional and mental capacity, we welcome safety and excitement to be the guiding light of our life. Perhaps the time is now. It is no coincidence that you are reading this article. It is time to truly honor you.

LIBRA SEASON + Mars retrograde

If you have been following me on my Mindfulness & Intuitive newsletters, you would have noticed that in my Insta posts, blog articles, offerings, and overall energy of Arawme —has always been the very watery, receptive Piscean. When I started Arawme, my mission is to pave a path that there is a feminine approach to entrepreneurship that works. One that is a soul-based, heart-driven and conscious business. One that reminds you to cultivate and show ourselves and the world that there is a NEW way of approaching and living the life we desire; the feminine led way.

At the time of writing, we have just officially begun in the Libra Season which is home to the naturally receptive Divine Feminine of Venus. As we are left with a few months of Mars Retrograde, many would assume that its all about embodying the “taking action”; the focus; the determination of Mars and Aries. But the right way in approaching every retrograde is to lean into the opposite of the sign and rulership. In this case, the opposite of Aries and Mars is the naturally receptive and divine feminine of Librarian and Venus energies. The art of acting from your body’s energetic wisdom; a place of intuition through deep awareness.

This is a perfect season and time to introduce more feminine flow into your life to achieve a work-life harmony we desire.

Below are 7 Simple Ways To Begin Introducing Feminine Flow Into Your Life:

1) Daily To- Feel List

This has particularly shifted the way I navigate my day because I am acting from a space of my physical body’s wisdom; how I feel and what my body (capacity) needs. Ask yourself, what do you feel like doing today instead of what must I do today? I always begin by writing my to-feel list the night before for the next day and integrate flexibility to adjust them accordingly the next morning. As a projector and an empath, I do know that I take a longer time accomplishing things so I would always limit them to not more than 5. It allows you to approach your day and tasks from a space of excitement rather than contempt and resistance. My To-Feel list ALWAYS consist of feminine tasks like movement/creativity, eg, I feel like rollerskating, I feel like playing the guitar, I feel like cooking for my family. Allowing your day to be guided by yourself from a space of awareness, curiosity and instincts is the highest form of self-love too.

2) Intentions Instead Of Goals

I wrote about the power of writing intentions and its differences versus goals over here. A goal is defined as an envisioned and desired result, accompanied by an effort to be accomplished within a specific time frame.

An intention is defined as a conscious expression of what you want to happen. It is a guiding self-reflective tool to help us show up in areas of our life that are aligned with our values and potential. It infuses purpose, inspiration and deep presence. Unlike a goal, an intention seeks no timeframe. It is infused with positive energies for you to emanate to yourself and others around you. An intention is designed to be expansive as it reminds you to recreate the present moment mindfully. It also allows you to work on yourself with patience and reclaim your inner peace. Intention setting is a lot to do with what your values are and not what you aim to be. An intention does not set you up to feel like a failure if you do not achieve it, it does not leave you feeling disempowered at the end of the day.

I always begin my day by setting 3 intentions for the day. You could do the same with setting it for that particular week or during the New Moon of the month. Your intentions should be closely aligned with your personal values in your life. It is meant to be expansive for you to recreate every present moment. I begin my intention setting practice by first identifying and defining keywords that are important to me. I always begin by setting 3 keywords.

Ask yourself questions. What matters to you? What are your strengths and qualities? What are your weaknesses and growth points? What do you want to let go of? What are you working on mastering? What words align with you right now? What would you like to release?

Presence. Softness. Compassion. Authenticity. Discipline. Kindness. Courage. Boundaries. Self Love. Abundance. Growth. Communication. Strength. Balance. Embrace. Vulnerability.

After this, you can move on to recreate a statement like below. It is important to always write it in the present tense and ask yourself at the end of the day with how you feel for it. Some examples include:

I am kind towards my body, my mind and my soul.

I embrace courage in every element of my life.

I intend to be compassionate to myself and everyone around me.

I choose to be kind.

3) Cultivate Movement

Movement is a very powerful theme of the feminine that is tied to play, fluidity and pleasure. When we move our body, we release tension within our body and feel more at home with our body’s sensitivity. We open ourselves to receiving pleasure— which is a key feminine energy trait! Movement is exposing our physical bodies to pleasure, not pain. Movement is something we have been used to as humans since the prehistorical times. If you spend hours in a sedentary position as I personally do, try setting a timer for you to get up and stretch often. It could be just walking to your garden to water your plants in mid-day. Or even moving around your house/apartment for a different workspace. It could be a yoga session, dancing in your room with 8D music, going to the outdoors, giving an embodied movement dance a go and/or making love with your partner too. Since I am in the city, I personally enjoy a rollerskating session or a kundalini yoga session, but otherwise when I close to Nature, I love a sunset swim in the ocean.

4) Honoring Rest

Honoring my body’s energetic wisdom begins when we heavily listen and tune into what my body needs right now. What does my body need right now? Can my body handle it right now? Honoring rest is the foundation of presence. If you are a projector like me, we bounce off the energies of others as our centers are mostly open. We need a lot of alone time to properly recuperate, calibrate and restore our energies. We are also optimized to work only 4/5 hours a day as we live off our unique strategy. I like to consider this a 4-5 hours of flow state work (read the next point). We also need a lot, a lot of rest. Rest could be reading a book, sleeping early, taking a nap, saying “No” because you know your body’s need to restore your energy by resting, playing music, listening to music etc. Honoring my rest is a huge theme of my new restructuring of my routine as I never felt it was as important as it is now.

5) Introducing Flow State In Your Life

Flow state is termed as a powerful state of mind when we are heavily immersed in an activity that is both productive and also feels great to us. It is where your abilities and skills merge simultaneously in a task that holds an element of challenge. One can observe a flow state as a task whereby time felt non-existent because you were so heavily engaged in the task/activity. Many sportsmen and athletes thrive and excel by integrating flow states in their training.

Personally, flow state is the centerpiece of my daily routine as it is a time where I honor my creativity, excitement and efficiency together at once. Flow state is also crucial because it forces you to mono-task (doing one thing at a time) instead of multi-task (doing a few things at the same time). Flow state is crucial for me so I don’t fall into the disempowered state of being overly in my feminine energies. By integrating flow state(s) in our life, we optimize an opportunity to unify our creativity, achieve work without being burnout.

You can begin by asking yourself what activity excites you and yet offers you an element of challenge in it. Next, you can set yourself a time dedicated to that activity. Next, get clear on how to eliminate distractions intentionally as you begin your flow state.

Flow state is a tool that I share deeply in Bhava: Your Mindfulness Self-Love Toolkit. Bhava is a self-discovery and inwards journey to reclaim your power back. It is a toolkit filled with expansive, spiritual tools, tips, and practices in navigating your true embodiment of self-love. Bhava isn’t a “high vibe only”, bubble bath, shopping therapy or ignoring your shadows type of self-love journey. If anything, it is about feeling deeply, be-friending your wounds and shadows, and feeling empowered about your inherent authenticity. You can read more about it here.

6) Aligning With Your Menstrual Cycle

For the women out there, this is for you.

Ever considered your menstrual cycle as the driver of your conscious container (your feminine power)? When we acknowledge that we have cyclical natures and patterns based on our menstrual cycle, we are also utilizing and empowering our unique biochemistry as women. Accordingly to Dr Kecia Gaither, Director of Perinatal Services at NYC, our female hormonal cycle does not only allow us to produce life but to also organize our life. Our natural and predictable fluctuations affect mood, energy and cognition and by using it to our advantage based on each cyclical— we optimize ourselves to deeper joy, flow and nature of our physical bodies. Also know as menstrual mapping, begin by tracking your menstrual cycle with an app like Flo or Clue. I personally like to align my menstrual cycle with the moon phases. Below is a brief of what are we most optimized for during those 4 phases:

Reflective Phase/Menstrual Phase: Day 1-7

Cyclical benefits: Deep inner processing, reflection, letting go, physical rest and restoration, renewal of energy, down time, looking at the bigger picture, accessing the subconscious, self-love, connection and understanding

Dynamic Phase/Follicular Phase: Day 7-14

Cyclical benefits: “Superstar time” for a woman, actualizing actions seeded in the reflective phase, new projects, new hobbies, creativity encouraging optimism and inspiration, planning, prioritizing, confidence

Expressive Phase/Ovulation- Luteal Phase: Day 14-21

Cyclical benefits: socializing, closing deals with clients, creating connections, supporting relationships, joy, having fun, heartfelt connections, gratitude, appreciation, team work, public speaking

Creative Phase/Luteal Phase: Day 21-28

Cyclical benefits: Excitement-led creativity, manifesting goals and dreams, recognizing synchronicities, channelled messages and ideas, identification and analysis of problems, creative flow, deep intentions, tidying, wrapping loose ends at work, bookkeeping, nesting, chilling, self-care

7) Keeping The Full Picture At The Back Of Your Mind

Tuning into our feminine energies does not represent an abolishment of the masculine energies in our life. According to Nilma and Raj of the Shakti Leadership, they mentioned the importance to leverage this internal diversity in a way that allows each individual to find a unique balance of expression freely for themselves. When we focus on keeping the bigger picture at the back of our mind, we allow ourselves to build ourselves closer to it in a healthy and integrated approach. It is important to still take masculine-inspired actions so we do not remain excessively in the feminine. The state of disempowerment begins when we become procrastinatory, smothering, overly sentimental, distracted and dependent. In what ways are you showing up today for your life that gets you closer to your big picture/end goal? Am I taking masculine-inspired action? Are my actions freely expressing myself? Fine-tune your unique way that best supports your flow, intentions and goals.

Alright so this is it—I hope you are ready to tune into your feminine flow.
